Zachary Hamscher is a 2017 SS/RHP with a 6-1 170 lb. frame from Whitehall, PA who attends Whitehall High School. Large, athletic frame with square shoulders and a long, lean build with room to fill out with additional strength. Ran a 7.09 60-yard dash. Primary middle infielder, moves well on feet and shows lateral range to either side, quick transfer and release, short arm action in the back with a lower slot at release, shows accuracy on throws across the diamond. Also pitched, quick arm action coming through the back and gets low in drive before working over front side. Slight effort at release, creates nice cutting life to fastball and works down in the zone to either side of the plate. Simple delivery and repeats it, creates occasional running life to arm side. Righthanded hitter, begins with a wide base and solid balance to swing. Line drive swing plane and gets the ball through the zone well with present bat speed, employs a middle of the field approach. Best contact off the barrel is line drive contact but shows ability to create loft out front with a short path to the ball. Excellent student.
