Travis Davenport is a 2019 SS/RHP with a 6-0 165 lb. frame from St. George, UT who attends Snow Canyon. Medium frame with a lean build and wiry strength. Primary shortstop with smooth paced, clean footwork while ranging for and surrounding the baseball. Funnels the baseball out front and worked through exchange quickly. Released from a high three-quarters arm slot with the ability to create accurate carry to the bag, topped at 81 miles per hour. Right handed hitter with an upright, even stance and large let lift trigger. Created some linear shift into contact with lower half. Clean hand path to baseball with a slightly lifted barrel plane through extension. Flashed good leverage at contact with present bat speed and strength. Ball jumped off the barrel well splitting the gaps when squared. Also pitched showing a small rock step to medium leg lift delivery. Stays tall on back side at gather and worked to the plate with drop and drive actions. Deep arm circle at take back and released from a high three-quarters slot. Fastball came out of hand well producing heavy downhill plane with run, topped at 85 miles per hour. Curveball showed tight 12/6 shape with late depth. Maintained arm speed with a changeup offering that generated fade to arm side in the upper 70's. Consistently attacked the zone with all three pitches and induced weak contact. Good student. Named to the 2018 West Academic Showcase Top Prospect List.
