Julian Rivera is a 2017 SS/2B with a 5-11 155 lb. frame from Caguas, PR who attends Puerto Rico Baseball Academy/HS. Medium, athletic frame with a lean, projectable build and room to fill out with additional strength. Ran a 7.12 60-yard dash. Primary middle infielder, clean actions to and through the ball, quick and loose arm action with strength and carry across the diamond from full arm action, moves well on his feet and remains balanced charging in. Righthanded hitter, starts with a wide base and a high back elbow in the box. Stays short to the ball with swing path, line drive swing plane with a long finish through the ball. Low hand set to start, swings hard and shows quickness to barrel, occasional lift at contact when extended out front. Flashes carry off the barrel when squared, keeps hands close and looks to pull. Good student.
