Matthew Miao is a 2017 RHP/3B with a 6-2 190 lb. frame from Arcadia, CA who attends Arcadia. Large frame with solidly-built, athletic present physicality. Primary right-handed pitcher, medium-length arm stroke through the back with solid arm speed, lands closed off in delivery and creates purposeful crossfire action as a result. Does a good job extending through release. Fastball worked 77-80 MPH with occasional arm side tailing life; did a very good job of throwing consistent strikes with the pitch. Mixed in curveball with 11/5 shape and solid depth; was able to throw the pitch for a strike almost at will. Was adept at pounding the zone with both pitches and did a good job keeping hitters off balance. Good student.
