Collin Heidner is a 2017 2B/RHP, 3B with a 6-1 170 lb. frame from Barrington Hills, IL who attends Barrington. Slender, athletic frame with plenty of projectable room to fill out remaining. Ran 60 yard dash in 7.85 seconds. Sets up to hit from open, upright stance with small hand load and leg lift trigger. Short, quick stroke on a line drive plane to the hitting zone, shows some ability to make contact throughout the strike zone with feel to hit to all fields. Worked out defensively in the infield, moves well to the ball and shows feel for clean fielding actions with hands and footwork. Made accurate throws across the diamond with arm strength clocked up to 72 MPH. Pitched as well, loose arm action up to high three quarters slot, generates solid plane to the plate, fastball worked 71-73 MPH to both sides of the plate. Showed a curveball with 11/5 shape and good sharpness with depth; also flashed a changeup with legitimate fading action on the pitch.
