Andres Hurtado is a 2017 RHP/SS, 2B, 3B with a 6-0 170 lb. frame from Downey, CA who attends Downey. Medium-large frame with lean, athletic build and good room to continue filling out body. Ran 60 yard dash in 7.82 seconds. Primary pitcher, shows longer arm action with deep hook in back of circle; comes out clean to near overtop slot with solid release. Has smoothness in delivery, lands online and uses lower half through delivery well. FB worked 77-80 MPH with hard riding, sinking life. Showed variety off secondary pitches. CH is thrown with good arm speed and offers fading action; SL has tight spin with shorter tilting life; CB is very deep with good sharpness. Hits with good balance through swing, shows clean path with hands to the zone, gets on top of the ball and drives it on a line to all fields, good shift into contact. Moves well to ball in the OF and works through it, has some smoothness in transfer and shows solid arm strength up to 78 MPH. Waits back a bit on ball in IF, fields cleanly from underneath, extended release into accurate throws, IF velocity up to 76 MPH. Good student.
