Thatcher Kozal is a 2019 C/OF with a 5-10 175 lb. frame from Waverly, NE who attends Waverly HS. Lean, athletic build. Narrow, straight stance at the plate. Creates good seperation with hands at load to a slightly coiled position. Linear lower half actions to contact with a lofted swing path. High energy swing and looks to drive the ball to gaps. Flashes bat speed with solid extension. Loud contact of barrel when squared. Shows soft hands behind the plate with the ability to funnel pitches on the inner half well. Tends to be slightly late on pitches cross body that produces some push. Solid footwork with good directional momentum on throws with accuracy to second. Shorter arm action with a 2 piece release. Young actions behind the plate. Nice tool set for a 2019 and should continue to develop with future strength and fluidity. Very good student as well.
