August Ramirez is a 2018 C/3B with a 5-9 195 lb. frame from Helotes, TX who attends O'Connor HS. Thick compact build, plenty of present strength. Left handed hitter, very aggressive spin approach, shows big bat speed at times and can impact the ball hard, ball sounds loud coming off the barrel, tends to fly open early with his front side, looking to pull and lift the ball, can punish balls over the plate but will have to improve his direction and balance to be consistent in games. Has some lower half flexibility behind the plate, compact actions, receives the ball deep, developing arm strength but gets rid of the ball quickly and makes accurate throws. Bat is interesting if he can harness his swing a bit. Good student.
