Daniel Fortier is a 2017 C/1B, 3B with a 5-9 165 lb. frame from Sandwich, MA who attends Sandwich. Medium frame with slender, athletic build throughout body. Good remaining projection on frame. Posted a 7.53 seconds 60 yard dash time. Hits from crouched stance and high hand set, loads very deep with body and hands, incomplete weight transfer into contact, line drive swing plane with good hands to and through the zone, gets the bat head out pretty well, made consistent line drive contact with willingness and ability to use all fields. Will unlock more strength off the barrel with better utilization of lower half in swing. Worked out defensively behind the plate at catcher position. Deep crouch with solid flexibility, slightly bent forward and can get off balance, gains ground out of crouch well, lower slot throws down to 2B with consistent accuracy, popped as low as 2.20 seconds. Excellent student.
