Caleb Blair is a 2017 C/RHP/IF with a 6-0 180 lb. frame from Dubuque, IA who attends Wahlert HS. Large frame with a solid, athletic build. Right handed hitter with a wide, slightly open stance. Simple foot up, foot down stride. Level swing path with a focus to stay inside the baseball on all pitches. Tends to leave weight on back side through contact. Flashes quick hands with some bat speed when effectively getting back side through contact. Soft hands while receiving pitches above the belt, tends to push pitches down and cross body. Shows clean glove to hand exchanges with a compact arm action to second. Gains ground well with on line momentum. Tends to push baseball at times restricting carry on the baseball. Throws were around the bag with some accuracy. Good student as well.
