Austin Brooks is a 2017 OF/LHP with a 5-11 145 lb. frame from North Brunswick, NJ. Small athletic build. Hits from a square stance with a high hand set and wide base. Line drive swing plane. Short path to ball with hands and showed good feel for barrel. Mid field contact. Good shift of lower 1/2 into swing. Defensively, moves well to the ball with a full arm action, gets behind ball, good crow hop coming through on throws. Has developing arm strength. Also pitched. Medium arm action to 3/4 arm slot. Shows developing arm speed. Has command of fastball and is in zone consistently with it. 1/7 shape on curveball that flashed depth.
