Jared Smith is a 2018 C/RHP/OF with a 6-0 160 lb. frame from Gainesville, GA who attends Gainesville HS. Recorded a 6.82 second 60-yard dash time. Strong and athletic build with broad shoulders and a strong lower half. Primary catcher with easy plus arm strength from the position; recorded up to 82 mph down. Smooth exchanges and tight releases. Stays down well and gets tremendous carry on throws. Really impressive footwork and advanced catch-and-throw skills. Secondary righthanded pitcher with a quick arm action and good arm speed. Lands online and clears the lower half well. Good momentum working toward the plate and challenged the strike zone. Three-quarter arm slot and can work the fastball to either side of the plate. Solid feel for the curveball and maintains arm speed on it; 10/5 action with tight rotation and sharpness. Righthanded hitter with a big leg lift trigger. Aggressive hitter with a lofted swing plane and bat speed. Home run power with a crouched stance. Timed up well and can turn the barrel over to hit home runs to the pull side.
