Tyler McClain is a 2018 OF/RHP/1B with a 6-1 175 lb. frame from Bonney Lake, WA who attends Bonney Lake HS. Large frame with athletic, highly projectable build. Ran 60 yard dash in 6.97 seconds. Sets up to hit from open start, closes well into stride, very good bat speed with extension through contact, swing is loose and easy with highly projectable bat speed and power. Showed positive launch angle with jump off the barrel to pull field. Repeated quality footwork well in the outfield and maintained athleticism through actions, quick transfer and release with arm strength clocked up to 83 MPH. Pitched as well, long and loose arm action to high three quarters slot, fastball worked 77-81 MPH with good control. Curveball showed 11/5 shape with quality depth; really attacked hitters and competed on the mound. Named to 2016 Northwest Showcase Top Prospect List. Very good student.
