John Bell is a right handed pitcher from Virginia Beach, Virginia. He is a 6' 145 pound 2007 pitcher with a whippy arm action and he throws from a very low 3/4 arm slot. We have seen John several times this summer and he continues to improve. His low 3/4 to side arm arm slot does fool hitters and he is developing a nice feel for his breaking ball. He is the kind of pitcher who will throw good hitters off balance. John should get a ton of groundballs when he is on. He showed a 74 mph fastball, a 60 mph curveball, and a 58 mph change up. He is deceptive and should continue to add velocity. Bell has a wiry athletic frame with room to add strength. At the plate, John handled the bat well with college projection on power and above average high school hitting talent. John also threw from the OF with good arm strength hitting 81 mph on the gun.
