Johnny Gray is a 2022 RHP/C/IF with a 5-11 135 lb. frame from Wilmington, DE who attends Tower Hill HS. Medium frame wit ha slender build and room to fill out. Ran an 8.35 second 60-yard dash. Primary righthanded pitcher with a quick side step into hip turn delivery. Lands in line down the mound working towards the plate. Long arm stroke in back getting into a three-quarters release. Fastball shows sinking life at the bottom of the zone in the low 70's. Was able to create weak contact with a slider that was kept in the bottom half and around the knees of hitters. Worked out defensively as a secondary first baseman. Fields the ball out in front with a funnel in. Has a strong idea with footwork when working through exchanges and turns to the bag. Developing arm strength with accurate throws at 70 miles per hour. Righthanded hitter with an even stance to start. Swings the bat hard and creates some barrel speed through the zone. Big linear shift into contact. Able to work line drives to the opposite field. Excellent student as well.
