Justin Smith is a 2019 C/RHP,/IF with a 5-9 165 lb. frame from Beaumont, TX who attends Hardin-Jefferson HS. Medium athletic build, has the beginnings of some present strength. Right handed hitter, good shift into contact, keeps his swing mechanics simple and directional, mid field line drive contact, can use his lower half better to generate bat speed, ball comes off the barrel well when squared. Shows athleticism behind the plate with young catching actions, has some bounce in his actions, developing arm strength, 2.16 best pop time. Topped out at 74 mph with a nice loose arm action in a short appearance on the mound. Young athlete who should keep improving.
