2015 National Underclass Showcase-Main Event
Larken Lancaster is a 2019 MIF/RHP/OF with a 5-9 145 lb. frame from Concord, NC who attends Concord HS. Medium frame, slender athletic build with room to fill out, add strength. Primary shortstop, worked out in the infield. Showed soft, reliable hands, efficient actions. Compact arm-action, could work through the ball a bit more but able to throw accurately across the diamond. Right handed hitter, narrow feet set with hands at shoulders. Showed a good, measured approach in game at-bats with a willingness to use the entire field and hit the ball where it is pitched. Still developing strength, bat speed, has solid hands. Also pitched, has an up-tempo delivery with medium leg lift. Compact arm-action, works to a higher armslot. Fastball up to 74 mph, can add and subtract velocity on pitch, also shows some cutting action. Flashed ability to work to both sides of the plate. Also showed a long-breaking curveball that changes hitters' eye levels and timing. Excellent student.
