Brad Poletski is a 2017 C/RHP with a 6-3 216 lb. frame from West Richland, WA who attends Hanford HS. Thick strong physical build, broad shoulders. Has strong hands behind the plate, receives the ball well, long arm circle throwing and tends to stay on his back side throwing, can improve throwing fundamentals to show his true arm strength. 7.23 runner, moves well for a catcher. Right handed hitter, uses his strong lower half well to generate bat speed, has good weight shift into contact, quick hands with a strong loose swing, ball comes off the barrel hard with line drive carry, has hitting tools to develop along with obvious strength. Also pitched, over the top arm slot, uses his lower half well on the mound, too, some effort at release but repeats his mechanics well. Fastball topped out at 79 mph, mostly straight, nice curveball with 12/6 depth, throws strikes with both pitches and competes well. Key to development will be improving his footwork and throwing mechanics behind the plate.
