Eric Jones is a 2017 RHP with a 5-10 145 lb. frame from Flower Mound, TX who attends Flower Mound High School. Long lean build with room to fill out and add strength to frame. Long and loose arm action, has some whip to arm coming through release point. Ball comes out clean with sinking life on fastball and projects for more velocity. Online delivery with a lower arm slot, commands both sides of plate well from slot. Curveball has 10/4 spin, more slider action then curve action. Misses bats with fastball or creates soft ground ball contact. Change up is developing and could be 3rd pitch in arsenal. Has upside on mound with projectable build. Hit from a slightly open stance and a high hand set. Clean and direct hand path to ball, pull side contact with a line drive swing plane. Named to South Under Top Prospect Team.
