Tyler Crawford is a 2020 1B/3B/OF with a 6-1 190 lb. frame from Bedford, NH who attends Kearsarge Regional HS. Large, broad shouldered build with long limbs and present strength proportioned throughout frame. Primary first baseman, stays low moving towards the ball and gets tall at release, fields the ball out front, short steps to the ball and off the bag, overall footwork will continue to develop, tight release on throws across diamond. Lefthanded hitter, begins with a wide base and a high hand set and back elbow at the plate. Utilizes a simple leg lift trigger for timing in the box and gets it down well, stays short to the ball and employs a patient approach. Uses length to create extension out front and shows fluidity to bat path with leverage at the point of contact. Gets rotational at times with swing but shows carry off the barrel to middle and pull side parts of the field; additional strength to unlock moving forward. Very good student.
