Nathan Hampson is a 2018 LHP/1B with a 6-2 195 lb. frame from Victor, NY who attends Victor Senior High School. Large frame, strength to build, physicalty, and room to continue to add strength. Posted a 7.78 time in the 60 yard dash. Primary left handed pitcher, started with a full hand raise over head, drop and drive element, short stride to the plate, short, compact arm action, deception to delivery, and threw from a three quarter arm slot. Hid the ball well, relatively low effort on the mound, and replicated delivery. Fastball worked 74-77 mph with plane to the lower third of the zone and arm side life. Fastball worked best inside to right handed hitters and flashed the ability to get to both sides. Showed a curveball with big depth and developing sharpness at 65 mph as well as a changeup with depth and sink at 68 mph. Secondary first basemen, showed clean transfer skills, extended release and developing hands. At the plate, starts open, deeper hand load and slight hitch, and a leg lift timing mechanism. Deeper hip coil at start of swing, torques well through lower half, though inconsistent timing at present. Best contact worked to pull side with raw bat speed. Very good student.
