Rhett Hammontree is a 2020 SS/RHP with a 6-0 160 lb. frame from Cohutta, GA who attends Dalton. Medium frame with slender, athletic build. Ran 60 yard dash in 7.12 seconds. Hits from even-based stance with smaller leg lift trigger, middle-field approach with quality bat speed, shows good ability to turn on the ball and flash pull-side power, projects for more power as he gains strength. Worked out in the infield, sits back on the ball a bit, shows good hands at the ball, quick exchange with clean release, clocked up to 86 mph across the diamond. Graded out well on the mound, athletic delivery, quality arm speed through arm stroke to 3/4 slot, looseness to arm, fastball worked 81-86 mph with good life to it, slider with sharp late break, good upside on the mound, did a good job throwing strikes. Very good student, verbal commitment to Lipscomb.
