Austin Randolph is a 2017 OF/2B with a 5-11 175 lb. frame from Tuscaloosa, AL who attends Northridge HS. Medium, athletic frame with strong, physical present build; with some projection remaining on body. Ran 60 yard dash in 7.45 seconds. Sets up to hit from wide-based stance set even to the plate, high hands and back elbow. Loads hands deep and gets onto line drive swing plane with barrel early on in launch, shows solid bat speed with whole-field approach while staying committed to the middle of the field, compact path to and through the zone with good line drive impact off the barrel when timed up properly. Worked out defensively in the outfield, short/quick steps to the ball while maintaining balance, fields cleanly out front off of front foot and gets to release quickly with short crow hop and quick transfer. Showed good accuracy to target on throws from the outfield, clocked up to 74 MPH. Good student.
