Sterling Russell is a 2016 OF/RHP with a 6-1 178 lb. frame from Vallejo, CA who attends Jesse M. Bethel HS. Tall and slender athletic build, projects very well defensively. Right handed hitter, hits from a still start but has quick hands and gets the barrel going, hits from above the ball and can get the barrel through on balls up in the zone, nice overall swing and made consistent solid contact in games, hits to all fields and swings hard. 7.26 runner, 4.45 home to first base, plays with some energy and runs all out. Young outfield fundamentals, vertical crow hop leaves him throwing up hill, has some raw arm strength to develop. Also pitched, slow paced leg lift delivery, fastball up to 81 mph, did not show any secondary pitches. Has the tools to continue to improve and enjoys playing the game.
