Matthew Silka is a 2019 RHP/OF with a 5-10 165 lb. frame from Canton, GA who attends Cherokee HS. Recorded a 7.84 second 60-yard dash time. Medium, athletic frame with room to fill out and add strength. Primary righthanded pitcher who only threw at the event. Throws exclusively from the stretch with a long arm stroke and a higher three-quarters arm slot. Leg lift above the belt and gathers and drives well off the backside through release. Good arm strength and the fastball topped out at 88 mph. Explosive fastball and attacks with the pitch. Jumps well out of the hand and gets on hitters quickly. Filled up the strike zone nicely and maintained velocity throughout. Developing curveball with 12/6 shape. Solid changeup that he maintained arm strength on. Some effort and intent upon release.
