Cody Johnston is a 2022 OF/2B, SS with a 6-0 160 lb. frame from Ooltewah, TN who attends Boyd Buchanan. Medium and lean frame. Ran a 7.88 second 60 yard dash. Primary outfielder, worked to the ball fielding it to the side, takes short shuffles into his release creating uphill carry, developing arm strength up to 67 mph from the outfield. Secondary infielder, fields the ball out in front in the infield, quick transfer with a low release point, similar arm strength across the diamond as in the outfield. Righthanded hitter with a narrow base and relaxed stance in the box, linear swing path with a flat barrel plane, good feel for the barrel with developing strength off the bat, will continue to improve with additional strength, opposite field approach. Good student.
