Peter Nielsen is a 2016 RHP/1B with a 6-1 206 lb. frame from Freehold, NJ who attends Freehold Township HS. Solid strong athletic build. Solid delivery mechanics, high 3/4's arm action, repeatable overall mechanics. Fastball topped out at 80 mph, works down in the zone and can work his fastball to his arm side, gets very good running life at times and will jam hitters. Soft curveball with occasional 11/5 shape, commands curveball well but will need to improve the power and spin as he moves forward. Works quickly and pounds the strike zone aggressively. Right handed hitter, limited stride and shift, upper half rotational swing, weight stays on his back side, opposite field contact, has the strength to hit with adjustments. Good student.
