Garrett Broussard is a 2019 SS/2B, 3B with a 6-2 187 lb. frame from San Juan Capistrano, CA who attends J Serra. Large frame with physical, athletic build. Ran 60 yard dash in 7.56 seconds. Hits from open-based stance with looseness to hands through swing, upper-half oriented swing with pull-side approach, showed some ability to work through the middle, swing will get lengthy. Worked out in the infield, good athleticism to both sides, positions self well, fields through the ball and maintains momentum into throws, clocked up to 81 mph across. Really stood out on the mound, high back elbow through arm stroke with some slinging action, throws from three quarters slot with effort, fastball worked 80-84 mph and jumped out of hand with good life through zone and solid control. Showed very sharp slider with good bite, also worked in slower curveball with some depth. Named to 2018 National Underclass West Top Prospect List, very good student.
