Nick Scattareggia is a 2021 C with a 5-9 175 lb. frame from Watervliet, NY who attends Shaker. Compact solid athletic build. 7.31 runner, game actions in drills behind the plate, has good fundamentals in his set up and balance, catches the ball smoothly out front with soft strong hands, shows some carry on his throws, does tend to drift off line on release but makes accurate throws, blocks with enthusiasm and solid technique, has been well coached and drilled and he executes well. Right handed hitter, rotational upper body swing from a deep hand load, has the strength to create some bat speed and get the ball to jump, looks to pull the ball aggressively, was consistent in his game swings and mechanics and showed his power. Hard nosed catcher with some skills. Named to the Mid-Atlantic Showcase Top Prospect List.
