Eric Taylor is a 2017 1B/3B, RHP with a 6-3 210 lb. frame from Midwest City, OK who attends Midwest City High School. Extra-large, athletic frame with a strong build with proportioned strength throughout, broad shoulders. Ran a 7.28 60-yard dash. Primary first baseman, shows looseness to actions and has looseness and flexibility stretching off the bag, balanced actions, fields the ball out front, quick feet coming off the bag, picks well in dirt, short arm action and gets on top of throws, nice carry across the diamond. Also pitched, medium leg raise up to belt with a slight pause before drive, balanced delivery and works over front side. Gets tall on backside and does a nice job of working on top of ball from high three-quarters slot, creates downhill plane and topped out at 83 mph, gets on hitters quick. Also showed an 11-5 shape curveball with sharp bite and nice depth. Athletic off mound. Righthanded hitter, begins with a wide base and a high hand set and back elbow. Simple load throughout lower half, upper body dominant swing with quick hands and a short, direct path to and through the ball. Line drive swing plane, occasionally gets to front side early, incorporates physicality nicely into swing and shows carry to the pull side when leveraged at the point of contact. Very good student. Named to South Top-Top Prospect List.
