Jose L Diana is a 2016 LHP with a 5-10 170 lb. frame from Santa Isabel, PR who attends Puerto Rico Baseball Academy/HS. Medium, athletic frame with square shoulders and present strength with room to add more. Primary lefthanded pitcher, slow tempo'd pace to delivery, gathers over the rubber before driving to the plate. Compact arm action through the back with a high three-quarters arm slot with effort at release. Ran fastball up to 89 mph and holds out of the stretch, occasionally works through delivery too quickly. Did a nice job making an adjustment and improved command in outing. Showed a slider that featured big potential with hard and tight rotation at 79 mph out of same arm slot. Named to Caribbean Top Prospect List. Good student.
