Craig Larsen is a 2018 SS/RHP with a 5-11 195 lb. frame from Toms River, NJ who attends Toms River North. Medium, athletic frame with broad shoulders and present strength throughout the frame. Ran a 5.20 60-yard dash. Primary shortstop, moves well on feet and takes shorter steps to either side, short and quick arm action through the back produces solid present arm strength, ball comes out of hand cleanly, gets on top and shows accuracy across. Also pitched, balanced delivery and gets tall on backside with a leg lift up to belt, quick arm through the back working to a high three-quarters arm slot. Fastball topped out at 82 mph, gets on top of the ball well and comes out clean with downhill plane. Can work in on lefties, nice feel for three pitches for strikes, 11-5 curveball with short depth and changeup at 72 mph. Righthanded hitter, incorporates lower half well into swing and gets weight moving into swing. Occasionally gets to front side but does a nice job of getting the barrel to the ball, keeps hands in on swing and uses an up the middle approach with line drive contact coming off the barrel, shows a nice feel in the box.
