Jared Bellissimo is a 2018 LHP/1B with a 6-1 210 lb. frame from Toms River, NJ who attends Toms River North High School. Large, broad shouldered frame with present strength on frame that plays well. Ran a 5.42 40-yard dash. Primary lefthanded pitcher, shows balanced to delivery with a short curl at top with leg lift slightly up past belt with a short and quick arm action in the back working to a three-quarters arm slot. Hides the ball well behind hip, creates extension out front with solid angle to fastball, short stride down the mound, topped out at 83 mph with short running life and filled the zone. Induced uncomfortable swings from lefties, mixed in a 1-7 curveball with short depth, occasionally slows arm action. Changeup flashed life down in the zone at 73 mph. Short steps coming off of first base, quick transfer to a loose and easy arm action, accurate throws, fields the ball cleanly. Righthanded hitter, starts with a slightly open stance and gets closed well. Has moving parts to swing but does a nice job of getting the barrel to the ball with a line drive swing plane with looseness to hands. Nice balance through impact and shows jump off the barrel when squared. Very good student.
