Andrew Jones is a 2017 LHP/OF, 1B with a 5-11 145 lb. frame from Williamstown, NJ who attends Buena Regional. Medium, athletic frame with with a lean, projectable frame and room to fill throughout frame moving forward. Ran a 7.09 60-yard dash. Primary lefthanded pitcher, generates deception throughout delivery and hides the ball well throughout the back. Good line and direction to the plate, stays tall on backside and utilizes lower half while working to an extended and lower three-quarters arm slot. Generate short running life to fastball down in zone, topped out at 74 mph and showed ability to pitch backwards throwing breaking ball with 2-8 shape and sweeping life and changeup for strikes. Graded out higher as a position player in this look, full and clean arm action in the outfield, moves well to and through the ball and gets over front side with an extended three-quarter release. Righthanded hitter, begins with a wide base and a high back elbow in the box. Short and direct swing path to the ball, shows a contact approach with a feel for the barrel and a line drive path. Keeps hands in on swing, stays balanced through point of contact and uses hands well, shows ability to hit to all fields. Good student.
