Erique (Eric) Hernandez is a 2017 SS/RHP/3B with a 5-11 140 lb. frame from Kyle, TX who attends Jack C Hays HS. Slender young build, has loose athletic actions and projects well physically, looks young for his class. Right handed hitter, narrow upright stance, loose line drive swing with good extension through contact, stays balanced well, mostly pull contact, has a feel for the barrel. 6.93 runner, stays low through the ball on defense, funnels the ball well and fields out front. Also pitched and showed promise as a secondary pitcher. Simple delivery mechanics that he repeats well, loose arm from a high 3/4's arm slot. Fastball topped out at 80 mph with good arm side running life, curveball showed good spin and some depth. Threw strikes with both pitches and was effective. Getting stronger will be key to his development. Good student.
