2016 West Coast Top Prospect Showcase
Harrison Spohn is a 2017 3B/SS with a 6-1 185 lb. frame from Upland, CA who attends Damien HS. Large frame with a solid, athletic build and present strength. Projects for additional strength while maintaining athleticism. Ran a 7.25 sixty yard dash. Primary third baseman with quick, fundamental footwork while working to and surrounding the baseball. Stays balanced throughout while on the move and funneling the baseball out front. Has explosive, fast twitch action but shows good body control throughout. Arm works well while throwing across the infield generating accurate, on line carry to the bag. Right handed hitter with a straight, balanced stance. Shows a compact path to contact with a line drive plane through extension. Primarily used a mid-field approach that generated hard consistent contact between the gaps. Shows very good barrel control through the zone with the ability to hit to all fields with pop. Swing mechanics projects well for the next level and will continue to develop with maturity and repetition. Named to the 2016 West Coast Top Prospect Showcase, Top Prospect List.
