Wilberto Rivera is a 2017 RHP with a 6-3 205 lb. frame from Naranjito, PR who attends Carlos Beltran Baseball Academy HS. Big and strong athletic build, still has some projection left. Deep arm action in back, has some hook there that impacts his breaking ball at present, 3/4's arm slot, arm is fast and powerful coming through. Fastball topped out at 94 mph, throws strikes to the middle of the plate, mostly straight with occasional arm side running life. Soft curveball at present, hand not getting in position to impart spin out front, may have to learn a slider similar to fellow Puerto Rican Joe Jimenez (top Tigers prospect) who was very similar at the same age.
