Jarrett Lopez is a 2017 C/MIF, OF with a 5-11 155 lb. frame from Crown Point, IN who attends Lake Central. Medium frame, young lean build with room to fill out, add strength at physical maturity. Right handed hitter, upright open stance with high hands set. Deep hand position and load, small bat wrap, can be late with the barrel at times. Solid line-drive swing plane, fast front side generates some bat speed. Contact-oriented approach to the middle of the field, could use lower half more in swing mechanics. Worked out behind the plate, shows natural look and feel at catcher. Solid fundamental footwork, receives the ball out in front, has a quick transfer. Solid arm strength, popped as low as 2.09 seconds in defensive drills. Good student.
