Petigrow is a 5-9 left handed hitting outfielder from Florida with very good physical tools. He ran the sixty in 6.79, which is probably closer to 6.55-6.60 on a decent running surface, and threw an impressive 88 mph from the outfield during drills. He showed good range in centerfield and was also under 4.3 a couple of times down to first base. Petigrow is a left handed hitter with a leadoff hitter’s mentality at the plate. He hits from a very open, wide stance and uses the whole field with a short, slashing swing. He does a very good job of squaring up on the ball and makes consistently solid contact. Petigrow projects as a high average hitter who will steal a lot of bases and cause problems for opposing teams because of his defense, speed, and approach. He profiles as a good player at the college level, and is an excellent student who should have his pick of quality schools.

Petigrow is a 5-7, 140 lb left handed hitting junior outfielder from Florida who has some impressive physical tools for his size. He has very good speed, running the 60 in 6.88, getting down to first base in 4.2 and showing very good range on defense in centerfield. Petrigrow’s arm strength in the outfield was also eye opening, as he threw 85 mph on the gun. At the plate Petigrow chokes up about 2 on the bat and has a short, quick swing. He showed excellent hand eye coordination in centering the ball on just about every swing and was willing to take the ball where it was pitched. Petigrow was a very patient hitter in the showcase games and we imagine that he draws more than his share of walks as well. Overall, Petigrow is a nice player with some real tools and a strong understanding of what he can do on the field. He is also an exceptional student.
