PG Grade: 8
John Schomers is a 2015 RHP/MIF with a 5-11 165 lb. frame from Omaha, NE who attends Millard North HS. Slender young build, lots of room to get stronger, has projection in his body and arm. Big leg and arm raise delivery, full deep arm action from a low hand start, will get off balance at times, complicated delivery, high 3/4's arm slot. Steady upper 70's velocity, topped out at 80 mph, consistent fastball running action, plus movement at times. Change up is softer fastball with nice sink, could be 2-seamer. Slider has sharp biting action and some depth, quality pitch, curveball is softer slider with bigger shape. Works quickly and pitches to both sides of the plate, has all the pitches, just a matter of adding strength and gaining velocity. Outstanding student. Named to the Pitcher/Catcher Indoor Showcase Top Prospect Team.
