Connor Peterson is a 2016 MIF/RHP with a 6-4 170 lb. frame from San Juan Capistrano, CA who attends San Juan Hills HS. Extra-large, athletic frame with long limbs and a lean, projectable build with room to fill out. Ran a 7.27 60-yard dash. Primary middle infielder, fields the ball out front, athletic actions while charging in, quick transfer to very short and compact arm action, gets on top of throws well. Also pitched, throws with a compact arm action through the back and a high and tight three-quarter release. Repeatable delivery, good online direction towards the plate with lower half, nice tempo overall. Does a nice job of getting on top of fastball to generate downhill plane, front side opens early at creates cutting life, topped at 81 mph. Curveball shows 10-4 shape with sharp depth and tight rotation at 70 mph. Right-handed hitter, starts with an upright stance and a medium hand set. Uses a small leg lift trigger for timing, upper body swing. Quick hands with a short path to the ball, generates extension out front with line drive contact coming off the bat. Projects well, shows bat speed and has an all fields approach. Good student.
