Matthew (Matt) Strickland is a 2016 RHP/3B, 1B with a 6-1 205 lb. frame from Pembroke, NC who attends Purnell Swett. Large frame with excellent present strength throughout body. Primary pitcher, shows slow-paced and deliberate delivery with balance throughout, gets to balance point and quickens tempo into downhill drive. Near overtop slot with longer arm action, some stiffness in arm, FB worked 80-82 with slight cut, threw strikes consistently with FB. Showed CB with 12/6 shape and quality depth, good spin on pitch. Hits from slightly closed stance, high hand set, hands set very close to body, generates solid bat speed in tensed swing mechanics, opposite field approach with some jump off the barrel when timed correctly. Worked out defensively in the IF, shows solid actions to ball, fields cleanly with good and soft hands, works through well into crow hop, shows good arm strength across the diamond up to 84 MPH.
