Zach Martinez is a 2015 C/OF with a 5-11 170 lb. frame from Lakewood, CA who attends Lakewood. Medium frame, strong athletic build with additional room for strength gains. Quick hands at the plate generating good bat speed from a high hand set, lands softly on front foot with an uppercut swing plane. Showed ability to adjust his swing during BP and use the whole field, some hand strength, doubles power at present but may develop further with maturity. Solid arm behind the plate with good carry on throws and quick release time, struggled a bit with the exchange from glove to throwing hand which forced him to rush his throws and caused arm side run on throws and caused pop time to be a bit higher than he's capable of but from a raw tools standpoint he showed quite well behind the plate and in the outfield. Named to the Sunshine West Top Prospect Team.
