PG Grade: 8
Kenneth Othman is a 2008 C/OF with a 5'10'', 165 lb. frame from Moreno Valley, CA, who attends Canyon Springs HS. Othman has a lean and athletic frame with projectability. Defensively he has athleticism behind the plate with good lateral movement. He blocks balls in the dirt well, and shows quick reactions. Othman receives well with soft hands and gives a great target. Showed arm strength with accuracy through the second base bag. At the plate he is a right handed hitter who hits from a straight away stance with a short, compact swing. Othman has a quick bat with a line drive swing plane, and stays balanced with his head down through contact. He has a good approach with good extension, and shows the ability to hit to all fields. He went 5 for 6 in the showcase games scoring 3 runs and stealing two bases. That is very productive. He is also an excellent student.
