Tyler Mahle is a 2013 RHP/MIF with a 6-2 175 lb. frame from Westminster, CA who attends Westminster HS. Very lean and slender build, minimum present strength. Loose projectable body and arm action, high 3/4's arm slot, ball comes out of hand easily. Fastball up to 88 mph, projects more velo in the future, gets good sink on his fastball. Harder slurve type breaking ball at 73-74 mph shows good spin and depth, softer curveball at 66-67 has no role at next level, still developing change up. Works quickly and throws strikes. Young bodied pitcher with a loose arm. Good student, verbal commitment to UC Santa Barbara.
