Ryan McKay is a 2015 OF/RHP with a 6-4 175 lb. frame from Melbourne, FL who attends Viera HS. Tall and slender athletic build, very projectable physically. Slow paced delivery with a big leg raise/tuck, good balance over the rubber, full arm circle, high 3/4's arm slot, tends to fall off on release. Mid 80's fastball, topped out at 86 mph, mostly straight with some glove side cutting action at times. Flashes hard spin and bite on curveball, tends to wrap in back and tip to the hitters, threw strikes with both pitches. More velocity in there with additional strength and some directional adjustments to his delivery. Right handed hitter, calm simple hitting approach, long one-piece swing, has bat speed and power potential, good game at bats. Sound outfield fundamentals with arm strength and accurate throws. Good student.
