LATEST PG SHOWCASE REPORT
2004 Spring Top Prospect Showcase
OF Mike Roeder: Roeder is a senior outfielder who made the trip down from Canada for the Spring Showcase. We’re very glad he did, too. Roeder has a nice projectable body that isn’t done adding strength but which has plenty of life now. All five of Roeder’s raw tools are playable to very good. He has a balanced, mature approach at the plate and generates some bat speed with a bit of loft in his swing. Roeder showed us a nice ability to hit the ball hard to all fields depending on pitch location. Roeder’s a good runner at 7.08 and has an outstanding throwing arm from the outfield. He clocked 89 mph in the workouts and made a great throw during a game to nail a runner. Roeder can be a defensive standout at any of the outfield positions. We don’t have any record of Roeder signing with a college right now but he definitely has the ability to play at the next level and play well. There are plenty of Division I outfielders out there right now who can’t carry his physical skills and Roeder is still projectable. Coaches, please give us a call if you have a spot for a talented outfielder!
