Matthew Smith is a 2006 right handed pitcher/first baseman from North Hampton, New Hampshire, with a big and strong 6'2"/205 pound frame. On the mound, Smith throws from a 3/4 arm slot with clean arm action and good arm speed. He has a balanced delivery with leverage and good command of his pitches. Matt's fastball has life at 85 mph and he has good arm speed on his changeup. He also throws a 10-4 breaking slider at 74 mph. Matt has good feet at first base with athletic actions and a strong and accurate arm. As a right handed hitter, he hits from an open stance with a no stride approach.
