Matt Kallaoun is a 2006 3B/RHP from Lassiter High School in Marietta, GA, with a 6'2'', 200 lb. frame. He has a strong, solid frame who reminds some of the PG staff of a young Scott Rolen. Defensively he has good arm strength with online carry and soft hands. He made some great plays at third base during the showcase games showing great third base actions, especially on slow rollers where he showed great body control for a player of his size. At the plate he is a right handed hitter with a no load, no stride approach. Kallaoun has good bat speed with a line drive swing plane, and stays balanced through his swing. There is strength in his swing with present raw power and more to come. Kallaoun battles at the plate, and has a good understanding of the strike zone. His hands work well at the plate and he has the ability to hit the ball where it is pitched. Kallaoun has a great package of talent, and is an excellent student as well.
