Fielding
- OF - Initial approach is quick and aggressive but slows down a bunch into reception where he doesn't get into the most athletic fielding position. Fielded most of them out front but a couple off to the side. Stiff arm/glove that doesn't work fully down to the ground to then work up. Shorter/stiff AA to an over the top slot.
- Would work on maintaining that initial quickness through reception with a glove that is displayed early. Would also lengthen out the arm action a bit to try to get more on throws.
- C - Developing catch/throw ability. Segmented actions with exchange/footwork. Avg. quickness with his shuffle out the crouch and exchange where he had trouble getting it out the glove at times. Shorter/stiffer AA that got off higher arcing throws that fell to 2nd and was 3/5 accurate. Would recommend first developing lower half quickness out the crouch and with the exchange letting the ball travel a bit more and have the exchange higher.
Hitting
- Is pre-turned inward in his stance. Basically no lower half movement where he uses a heel turn trigger. Swing is hands dominant and long throwing the barrel on an uphill path with a shorter/level finish. Not much adjustability. Avg. bat/hand speed for his level. Found a couple solid pullside barrels.
- Would recommend using some sort of lower half load/forward-move as to maybe help engage some other parts of the body in the swing besides the hands/arms. Would also use a cue of working more direct/downhill to the baseball to counteract the sweepy uphill nature of the current swing.
